Recovery of arms cache by Assam Rifles in NC Hills

A column of 45 Assam Rifles established vehicle check post near Harangajao in NC Hills District in South Assam and intercepted a Bolero vehicle. On seeing own column the occupants tried to escape. The troops nabbed both the occupants.

Search of the vehicle led to recovery of cache of arms and ammunition concealed under a heap of vegetables. Details of the recovery is as follows:-

(a) AK 47 Rifle                     - 01
(b) AK 56 Rifle (with Bayonets)     - 04
(c) M 16Rifle                       - 01
(d) Bolt Action Rifles              - 02
(e) 9 MM Pistol (Chinese)           - 01
(f) Large quantity of small Arms ammunition.
(g) Rs 3,540/- in cash.

The apprehendees alongwith the recovery were later handed over to the Police at Haflong.
