Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Health Care Ltd announces improved results, declares Rs.25 dividend

Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Health Care Ltd has announced the following audited results for the quarter & year ended June 30, 2006:

The Company has posted a net profit of Rs 465.60 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 where as the same was at Rs 383.60 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2005. Total Income is Rs 1558.70 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 where as the same was at Rs 2055.30 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2005.

The Company has posted a net profit of Rs 1395.10 million for the year ended June 30, 2006 where as the same was at Rs 1246.10 million for the year ended June 30, 2005. Total Income is Rs 6310.10 million for the year ended June 30, 2006 where as the same was at Rs 7315.40 million for the year ended June 30, 2005.

Previous period´s / year´s figures are not strictly comparable with that of current period / year due to discontinuance of operation of detergent manufacturing business.

The Board of Directors has declared a Final dividend of Rs 25/- per equity share for the year ended June 30, 2006.

Sharing perspective on the results for the FY 2005-06, Mr Bharat Patel, Chairman, of the Company said, "Our strong 18% sales growth of the core businesses for both, the full year and last quarter, keeps us in the league of India´s fastest growing FMCG companies. Our focus on driving superior quality and value, product innovations, insightful marketing programs, strong trade plans, and expanded distribution have also helped us stay market leaders in the categories we compete in. To meet with the growing demand of our products we are now investing Rs 56 crores in expanding capacity of our existing Feminine Hygiene plant in Goa and building new Health Care plants in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh"

Further the Company has informed that, the Board of Directors at its meeting held on August 28, 2006, has approved the appointment of Intime Spectrum Registry Ltd (ISRL), Mumbai as the Registrar and Transfer Agent (R&T) of the Company in place of MCS Ltd. This Change was necessitated consequent to MCS Ltd selling its Registry business to ISRL. This change would be effective form September 01, 2006.
