Rs.500 Crore earmarked for commonwealth games in the current budget

The Finance Minister, Shri P. Chidambaram has provided Rs. 150 crore to the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and Rs. 350 crore to the Delhi Government in 2007-08 for the Commonwealth Games to be held in New Delhi in the year 2010. He also proposed to provide Rs. 50 crore for the Commonwealth Youth Games 2008 to be held in Pune.
