Indian Government earns whopping Rs.67718.95 Crores from Auction for 3G Spectrum

The Auction for allocation of 3G Spectrum closed today after 34 days and 183 rounds of intense bidding.

The Price per block of 2x5 MHz Pan India spectrum is Rs.16750.58 crores. 3G spectrum auction including amount payable by MTNL and BSNL will earn revenue of Rs 67718.95 crores to the government.

Service providers who emerged successful were Bharti, Vodafone, Reliance. Vodafone, Bharti and Reliance emerged successful with bids for key cities Delhi and Mumbai.

The winning price for Delhi was highest with bids for Rs 3316.93 crores, followed closely by Mumbai with Rs 3247.07 crores.
