Bangalore, December 2009: Enzen Global Solutions, a Bangalore- based energy and environmental consulting firm has bagged two prestigious awards at India Power Awards 2009 held at New Delhi recently.
Enzen has been awarded the India Power Awards 2009(IPA) for their exemplary performance in the power utilities segment. They received awards in two categories (a) 'Energy Efficiency, Conservation and Demand Side Management' and (b) Innovative IT Application in Utility Management'.
The first award was for Agriculture Demand Side Management project that they are implementing in association with BESCOM and PA Consulting. This project is probably the first such initiative in India. The 'Innovative IT Application in Utility Management' award was for iDMS, the Integrated Distribution Management System in Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitaran Nigam Limited (DHBVNL). iDMS is the first ready built, indigenous ERP for the Power Distribution Companies on the Public Private Partnership.
The Agriculture Demand Side Management project being implemented by Enzen for BESCOM helps in saving the energy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. "Before we look at ways to generate extra power we must look at ways to plug the leakages in the system we use and optimize their performance. At Enzen, we believe Energy Efficiency and Demand Side Management have a big role to play in the energy security of the nation. The award is the vindication of this belief," says Satheesh Kumar, CEO, Enzen Global Solutions.
At DHBVNL, Enzen implemented new and innovative IT application iDMS which brings control, coordination, transparency and information accessibility to the power distribution system. "iDMS has been tailored to suit Indian distribution companies. It will be of great value to the distribution companies. It is very easy to implement and use," informs Kuriya, Chief General Manager, DHBVNL.
