              - SCBC, a dominant player in the credit card business in Kenya, now ventures into debit card market
Pune, 10th September 2009: electraDEBIT, an ElectraCard Services' offering, is now providing technology to Southern Credit Bank's MasterCard debit card, the first MasterCard® debit card in Kenya. ElectraCard Services, a leading provider of software solutions for electronic payment systems, has provided this product to Southern Credit Banking Corporation's (SCBC) flagship brand, 'Senator Cards'.
SCBC has dominated the credit card market in Kenya with the Senator Cards brand. Senator Cards were the first charge cards in Kenya. Today the brand commands a substantial share of the card business in Kenya under Visa®, MasterCard® and the Senator Private Label for local use. electraDEBIT, as technology partner, will facilitate ease and convenience of transactions to SCBC customers at more outlets.
