Monsanto India sells a herbicide business to Sumitomo Chemicals India Pvt Ltd

Monsanto India Ltd has announced that the company has sold its business of manufacturing and trading in a herbicide i.e. Sulfosufuron - 75% WG in the trademark of "Leader" to Sumitomo Chemicals India Pvt Ltd vide Business Transfer Agreement dated August 31, 2006.

Therefore the Company has decided to closed down the co-packing facility of Sulfosulfuron-75% WG at Guwahati on / or before December 31, 2006.
