Bangalore, 04 June, 2009: 'Biotechnology beyond boundaries – the promise of India', is the focal theme of the Ninth Edition of Bangalore Bio organized by the Department of Information Technology, Biotechnology and Science & Technology, Government of Karnataka, Vision Group on Biotechnology and MM Activ Sci-Tech Communications Co. The event will be held at Hotel Lalit Ashok, Kumara Krupa from June 18th to June 20th 2009.
Bangalore Bio is Karnataka's Flagship Biotech event. Over the last eight years, the event has emerged as the number one platform and brought together National and international participants from the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, educational and financial sectors to interact, through its Trade Show, Technical Sessions, International Conference, Business Forum, CEO Conclave, Poster Session, and the new added Bio Partnering Platform.

Nobel Laureate Dr. Richard J. Roberts will deliver the Inaugural Keynote address in the Opening Plenary of the Conference at the Bangalore Bio 2009. Dr. Roberts was awarded the 1993 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for the discovery of introns in eukaryotic DNA and the mechanism of gene-splicing. His amazing discovery of interrupted genes transformed the model for understanding how proteins are synthesized from genes.
