SP, BSP, RJD and other parties extend support to Cogress-Led UPA Government

Shri Prem Chand Gupta and Shri Jay Prakash Narayan Yadav met the President at 6.45 p.m. and handed over a letter addressed to the President by Shri Lalu Prasad, National President, RJD extending unconditional support to the formation of UPA Government headed by Dr. Manmohan Singh.

Later, at 7.10 p.m., Shri Satish Chandra Mishra, General Secretary, BSP, met the President and handed over a letter addressed to the President by Km. Mayawati, National President, BSP extending unconditional support from outside to a Congress-led UPA Government.

A written communication was also received separately from the Nagaland People's Front extending support to a Government at the Centre led by the Indian National Congress and its allies.

Shri Amar Singh, National General Secretary, Samajwadi Party met the President today at 11.50 a.m. Shri Amar Singh handed over a letter addressed to the President offering support for the formation of UPA Government under the leadership of Dr. Manmohan Singh.

Written communications have also been received separately from the Bodoland Peoples Front and the Sikkim Democratic Front declaring their respective support to a Congress led UPA government headed by Dr. Manmohan Singh.
