Tata Chemicals announces Q1 results

Tata Chemicals Ltd has announced the following Unaudited results for the quarter ended June 30, 2006:

The Company has posted a profit after tax of Rs 753.50 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 as compared to Rs 649.40 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2005. Total Income* (net of excise) has increased from Rs 5206.20 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2005 to Rs 7628.40 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2006.

* Total Income is including Interest on Refunds of Tax.
