Siemens announces Q3 results

Siemens Ltd has announced the following Unaudited results for the quarter ended June 30, 2006:

The Company has posted a net profit after tax of Rs 565.17 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 where as the same was at Rs 395.48 for the quarter ended June 30, 2005. Total Income (net of excise) is Rs 10489.62 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 where as the same was at Rs 6158.30 for the quarter ended June 30, 2005.

Demag Delaval Industrial Turbomachninery Pvt Ltd. (DDIT) (a 100% subsidiary of the Company) being part of the Power Segment and Siemens VDO Automotive Ltd. (SVDO) (representing the Automotive segment) were amalgamated with the Company on November 17, 2005 and January 16, 2006 effective from April 01, 2005 and October 01, 2004 respectively.

Consequently, the figures for the quarter and nine months ended June 30, 2006 include the financial results of DDIT and SVDO amounting to Profit Before Tax of Rs 25.45 million for the quarter and Rs 118.50 million for the nine months respectively. Therefore, the figures for the corresponding previous quarter and nine months are not strictly comparable.
