Surat Airport gets New Domestic Terminal Building

The new Domestic Terminal Building was inaugurated at Surat Airport today. The New Domestic Terminal Building has an area of 8474 sqm and is a glass and steel structure having modern passenger friendly facilities such as central heating system, central air conditioning, public address system, Flight Information Display System (FIDS), CCTV for surveillance, check in counters, car parking, etc.

The Building has peak hour passenger handling capacity of 250 passengers (125 arrival + 125 departure) and annual handling capacity of 2.03 lakh. The New Domestic Terminal Building has Domestic Passenger handling capacity of 150 . The terminal building has 6 Check-in counters, 1 X ray scanners (for baggage), 3 Security check booths and 2 Conveyor Belt – arrival.

The new apron can cater for parking of 05 Category 'C' type of aircraft.
