Pawan Hans Helicopters carries over 1 lakh passengers to vaisahno Devi in less than 11 months

Pawan Hans Helicopters Ltd. on 21 February, 2009 carried its one hundred thousandth passenger to the Vaishno Devi Shrine in the state of Jammu & Kashmir. It had started its passenger services to the Holy Shrine from 3 April 2008.

The Company had been awarded a three-year contract after a competitive bidding process in April 2008. Pawan Hans has not only provided the facility to reach the holy shrine within minutes but was also instrumental in bringing down the ticket cost from Rs. 4000 to Rs. 2700 for a return trip which included priority 'darshan'.

Pawan Hans will also be starting helicopter services to Shri Kedarnath Dham/Badrinath Dham etc. from Augustmuni/Phata during the coming yatra season in May, 2009.
