Jaiprakash Associates announces Q1 results

Jaiprakash Associates Ltd has announced the following Unaudited results for the quarter ended June 30, 2006:

The Company has posted a net profit of Rs 920 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 as compared to Rs 4140 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2005. Total Income* has decreased from Rs 12150 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2005 to Rs 9200 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2006.

* Total Income is including Profit on Sale of Shares of Jaiprakash Hydro Power Ltd (JHPL).
