Cyclonic Storm "NISHA" to bring heavy rainfall

The Cyclonic Storm "NISHA" which crossed the coast close to north of Karaikal early in the morning between 5:30 and 6:30 hours is expected to bring heavy rainfall in Tamil Nadu & Pondicherry.

The Meteorological Department has forecasted hHeavy to very heavy rainfalls at a few places and isolated extremely heavy falls (= 25 cm) is likely over tamil nadu & puducherry during next 24 hrs.

Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is also likely over kerala, south interior karnataka and lakshadweep during the same period.

Gale winds speed reaching 60-70 kmph gusting to 80 kmph are likely along and off tamil nadu & puducherry coasts during next 12 hours. Sea condition is high along and off these coasts.
