SatNav Technologies announces an array of Partnerships

Unfolds a treasure chest by offering 15 lakh (1.5 Mn) destinations on SatGuide Maps.

Hyderabad, New Delhi, 20th Nov, 08: SatNav Technologies, the pioneer of GPS Navigation in India announced today that it has partnered with several key players in the Navigation and Mapping industry for its GPS Navigation product SatGuide. SatNav also announced that SatGuide maps will now offer 15 lakhs (1.5 Million) POIs. The company announced these developments at the Navigation India 2008 conference that started today at Hyatt Regency, New Delhi where the company is the Navigation Pioneer Sponsor. The primary objective of the two day conference is to bring all the key players in the GPS market under one roof.

The company has tied up with GoGo India and Voxtel for SatGuide, who have big plans for GPS navigation in India. Under the partnership, the maps and Software, sold under the brand SatGuide are to be incorporated into the Personal Navigation Device (PNDs) of both companies. Users of these PNDs will have access to as much as 15 lakh POIs through SatGuide maps.

The company has also partnered with Bharat Nav (Pune) and ProGin (Hyderabad) - two up-coming manufacturers of PND devices in India, for the availability of SatGuide maps on their devices. Kallatra and Spin Telematics have also signed for the SatGuide maps on their PNDs.

Extensive investment of almost 20 Crores in SatGuide for creating content and in establishing a brand across the country in collaboration with retail chains like Ezone, Croma, Reliance, Staples, Xcite, ABRL among others, has led to an increased confidence among partners about the benefits of a tie up with the company.

SatGuide is very user friendly software and is available on many phones sold in the Indian GPS market today like ASUS and i-mate, among others. As an after market accessory, it is available on almost every PND, PDA, Windows Phone, Symbian Phone, Laptop, Desktop and there is also a logger for passive tracking of assets and vehicles. The advanced features added on this include turn-by-turn navigation; multiple-stop planner and also voice prompt in 9 different languages. Users can also select the quickest possible route on these devices with SatGuide maps. With a route planner feature on the software, SatGuide offers a stress free journey at all times to travelers. The maps are updated every quarter enabling the users an access to updated and accurate information.

SatGuide maps have made a significant increase in POIs with respect to locations like Delhi (NCR), Chandigarh, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Vishakapatnam, Kolkata, Pune, over 200+ cities. Points of Interest (POI) is said to be the essence of every navigation map as it allows travelers to reach a particular destination by identifying all other POIs provided in and around the location. States like Haryana, Himachal, Goa, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Kerela have also seen a huge addition of POIs.
