Marking the Success of Its Information Security Management Systems
Certification Attests to Broadridge India's Security Capabilities and Commitment to Protecting Valuable Client Data
Hyderabad, India – November 20th 2008 - Broadridge Financial Solutions (India) Private Limited, a subsidiary of Broadridge Financial Solutions, Inc. (NYSE:BR), has received the internationally acclaimed ISO 27001 Certification for its entire facility and all operations being conducted in India. This international certification covers Broadridge India's Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) for Software Development/QA/Maintenance/Enhancement activities, BPO (Global Brokerage Transaction Services) activities, and support functions. Being ISO 27001 certified ensures that the design and implementation of ISMS for these activities have been assessed and tested to protect all proprietary and client information.
Broadridge India provides an array of Information Technology and Back-office support services in the ICS (Investor Communication Solutions), SPS (Security Processing Solutions) and Clearing and Outsourcing Solutions business segments of its parent company.
ISO 27001 is the only auditable international standard which defines the requirements necessary to ensure that sufficient information security controls are instituted within the certified organization. Maintaining the ISO 27001 Certification requires an annual review and re-certification every three years by an external certifying agency. In addition to the review by an external agency, Broadridge India is committed to conducting periodic internal audits to test the effective implementation of controls put in place for continual improvements. Broadridge India has also set up a Security Council and has appointed information security coordinators in all groups whose job it is to support information security controls implementation. The ongoing scrutiny of Broadridge India's ISMS in this manner provides confidence to clients that their data is well protected and that security is regularly checked and upgraded.
Commenting on the occasion, Mr.V.Laxmikanth, Managing Director, Broadridge India said, "We have always been committed to maintaining the highest level of security when handing our clients' confidential information. This new certification demonstrates this commitment and endorses the important controls we've put in place to protect our information assets."
