Dr Anbumani Ramadoss calls on Norwegian Prime Minister in Oslo

Dr Anbumani Ramadoss, Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, who is on official visit to Norway met the Prime Minister of Norway Mr Jens Stoltenberg at Oslo today and discussed issues pertaining to health sector cooperation between the two countries.

During this meeting minister of Health & Family Welfare of India highlighted implementation of National Rural Health Mission, Imunisation Programme, maternal and child health programme ,tobacco control measures, HIV/AIDS etc. in India.

The Prime Minister of Norway appreciated Dr Anbumani Ramadoss on the NRHM and the reduction in Maternal mortality ratio in India.

During this meeting the Indian Health Minister was assisted by Shri G.C.Chaturvedi, Additional Secretary & Mission Director, National Rural Health Mission, Dr. Lalit Kant, Senior Deputy Director General, Indian Council of Medical Research and Shri K.Dhanavel, Private Secretary to the Minister.

The delegation from the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare headed by Dr.Anbumani Ramadoss is on official visit to Norway, Sweden and UK from 17 - 23 November 2008.
