Sharjah, 27th October, 2006 Air Arabia LLC, the first low-fares airline in the Middle East and North Africa is taking off to two more cities in India - Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram. The airline already travels to Mumbai, Jaipur, Kochi and Nagpur in India and subject to Government approval, the airline will soon commence flights to the two cities with hopes of more Indian cities joining the Airlines destination portfolio.
Another welcome addition for travellers flying to the sub-continent is Air Arabias launch of flights to the scenic city of Kathmandu in Nepal. Speaking on the new destinations in India, Mr. Adel Ali, CEO of Air Arabia, said: Air Arabia is proud to add Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram and Kathmandu to its destinations. The launch of these new services is part of our commitment to passengers as we strive to deliver value to our customers by ensuring that our network has broad coverage at the lowest possible fares.
The inaugural flight to Chennai is scheduled for the 2nd of November 2006 leaving Sharjah at 0800 hours and arriving in Chennai at 1320 hours while the return flights will take off at 1405 hours, touching down in Sharjah at 1645 hours local time. Regular flights however will leave Sharjah at 2250 and arrive in Chennai 0430. Return flight leaves Chennai at 0515 and arrives at Sharjah International Airport at 0740.
Thiruvananthapuram is launching on the 5th of November making it the 6th destination in India that Air Arabia services cater to. Flights to Thiruvananthapuram will take off at 0645 hours, arriving in the destination at 1220 hours. The return flights will depart Thiruvananthapuram at 1305 hours, reaching Sharjah at 1555 hours (local time).
