Maruti Suzuki Commences Commercial Production at 4th Hansalpur Plant; Facility Reaches Milestone 1 Million Unit Capacity

India's leading passenger vehicle manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), has announced the successful commencement of commercial production at the fourth plant (Plant D) of its manufacturing facility at Hansalpur, Gujarat, effective 30th July 2026.

With an annual production capacity of 250,000 units, the operationalization of Plant D elevates the Hansalpur facility's total capacity from 750,000 units to 1 million units per annum. This marks a historic milestone as the first manufacturing site globally in Suzuki's history to attain a 1 million annual production capacity, solidifying Hansalpur's position as India's largest passenger vehicle manufacturing plant at a single location.

The newly operational Plant D will initially focus on manufacturing Maruti Suzuki's flagship Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV), the e VITARA. The broader Hansalpur complex currently produces popular models including the FRONX, Baleno, Swift, and e VITARA.
