Westlife Foodworld Reports Q1 FY27 Results: Consolidated Operational Revenue Up 11.86% YoY to ₹73,563.85 Lakhs

Westlife Foodworld Limited, the master franchisee operating McDonald's restaurants in West and South India, has officially announced its unaudited consolidated and standalone financial results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026 (Q1 FY27). The company recorded double-digit top-line growth in operational revenue, driven primarily by higher sales of products across its restaurant network, though profitability remained constrained due to increased input costs and operating expenses.

Consolidated Financial Performance Overview

On a consolidated basis, Westlife Foodworld recorded a healthy expansion in top-line revenue for Q1 FY27:

Revenue from Operations: Consolidated total revenue from operations rose 11.86% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹73,563.85 lakhs in Q1 FY27, compared to ₹65,763.71 lakhs in Q1 FY26. Sequentially, operational revenue grew by 12.25% over ₹65,535.59 lakhs recorded in Q4 FY26.

Product Sales: Core product sales expanded 11.42% YoY to ₹72,786.17 lakhs from ₹65,325.26 lakhs in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year.

Other Income & Total Income: Other operating income contributed ₹748.80 lakhs, while non-operating other income stood at ₹658.86 lakhs. Total income for the quarter reached ₹74,222.71 lakhs, up 11.71% YoY from ₹66,444.05 lakhs in Q1 FY26 and up 12.14% sequentially from ₹66,184.89 lakhs in Q4 FY26.

Profit Before Tax (PBT): Consolidated PBT before exceptional items stood at ₹78.80 lakhs for Q1 FY27, turning around from a loss before tax of ₹(95.12) lakhs in Q4 FY26, though lower than the PBT of ₹166.02 lakhs reported in Q1 FY26.

Profit After Tax (PAT): Net profit after tax for the quarter came in at ₹58.68 lakhs, compared to ₹122.75 lakhs in Q1 FY26 and ₹237.50 lakhs in Q4 FY26. Total tax expenses for the period amounted to ₹20.12 lakhs.

Total Comprehensive Income: Reached ₹62.38 lakhs in Q1 FY27, supported by a net other comprehensive income of ₹3.70 lakhs.

Consolidated EPS: Basic and diluted earnings per share for the quarter were recorded at ₹0.04 per share (Face value ₹2 per share), compared to ₹0.08 per share in Q1 FY26 and ₹0.15 per share in Q4 FY26.

Operational Expenses Breakdown (Consolidated)

Total expenses for Q1 FY27 increased to ₹74,143.91 lakhs, compared to ₹66,278.03 lakhs in Q1 FY26 and ₹66,280.01 lakhs in Q4 FY26. Key expenditure items included:

Cost of Materials Consumed: Stood at ₹23,866.43 lakhs, up 27.83% YoY from ₹18,670.53 lakhs in Q1 FY26.

Employee Benefits Expense: Rose 9.45% YoY to ₹10,255.55 lakhs, compared to ₹9,370.36 lakhs in Q1 FY26.

Finance Costs: Stood at ₹3,876.85 lakhs, compared to ₹3,543.30 lakhs in Q1 FY26.

Depreciation and Amortisation: Reached ₹5,995.71 lakhs, up from ₹5,503.42 lakhs in the year-ago quarter.

Other Expenses: Accounted for ₹30,149.37 lakhs, compared to ₹29,190.42 lakhs in Q1 FY26 and ₹26,049.64 lakhs in Q4 FY26.

Standalone Financial Results Summary

On a standalone level, Westlife Foodworld recorded strong earnings driven by dividend income:

Total Revenue from Operations: Reached ₹657.43 lakhs in Q1 FY27, comprising dividend income of ₹629.15 lakhs and net gain on fair value changes of ₹28.28 lakhs. This compares to ₹1,474.85 lakhs in Q1 FY26 (which included ₹1,441.79 lakhs in dividend income) and ₹18.78 lakhs in Q4 FY26.

Total Income: Stood at ₹662.57 lakhs, inclusive of ₹5.14 lakhs in other income.

Total Expenses: Stood at ₹39.88 lakhs, comprising legal and professional fees of ₹21.22 lakhs, directors' sitting fees of ₹13.57 lakhs, listing and membership fees of ₹3.06 lakhs, and other expenses of ₹2.03 lakhs.

Profit After Tax (PAT): Standalone profit after tax reached ₹622.69 lakhs for Q1 FY27, turning around from a net loss of ₹(15.13) lakhs in Q4 FY26.

Standalone EPS: Basic and diluted EPS for the quarter stood at ₹0.40 per share, up from ₹(0.01) per share in Q4 FY26.

The company began FY27 on a strong note, delivering its strongest business momentum in recent quarters. Revenue for Q1 FY27 stood at ₹7.36 billion, growing 12% year-on-year, supported by robust guest count growth across markets and continued effectiveness of its value-driven strategy. Same Store Sales Growth (SSSG) improved to 4.3%, with May and June recording particularly strong performances and mid-single-digit SSSG levels.

Demand trends remained healthy across all channels. On-premise sales, comprising dine-in and takeaway, contributed 59% of system sales. Off-premise channels also recorded healthy growth, with McDelivery continuing to outperform and further strengthening its position as a key growth engine for the business. Westlife continued to strengthen its restaurant footprint. As of June 30, 2026, the Company operates 482 restaurants across 79 cities and remains on track to achieve its target of 580-630 restaurants by December 2027.

Disciplined cost management, operating leverage and continued execution excellence helped maintain sustained profitability. Operating EBITDA increased 11% year-on-year to ₹946 million, while Cash PAT stood at ₹517 million, representing 7% of sales. Restaurant Operating Margin stood at 18.6% and Operating EBITDA margin at 12.9%.

The Company's continued focus on affordability, relevant menu innovation and operational excellence drove strong customer engagement. The Everyday Value platform at ₹99 remained the primary catalyst for guest count growth, while targeted brand initiatives enhanced consumer relevance and top-of-mind recall across markets.

During the quarter, the Company launched its new brand campaign, "Let's Family at McD", commemorating 30 years of McDonald's in India and celebrating the evolving meaning of family through the everyday moments that bring people together.

Digital adoption continued to deepen, with digital channels contributing approximately 74% of sales. The McDonald's app ecosystem crossed 55 million cumulative downloads, while monthly active users rose above 3.7 million, reinforcing the strength of the Company's omni-channel platform and customer engagement capabilities.

Looking ahead, Westlife Foodworld remains focused on strengthening its core daypart leadership, expanding its omni-channel capabilities, and accelerating network growth across existing and new markets. With a resilient operating model and strong execution capabilities, the company remains well positioned to drive consistent and sustainable growth.

Shares of Westlife Foodworld Ltd was last trading in BSE at Rs. 486.65 as compared to the previous close of Rs. 488.60. The total number of shares traded during the day was 15047 in over 667 trades.

The stock hit an intraday high of Rs. 501.00 and intraday low of 474.00. The net turnover during the day was Rs. 7328221.00.
