Speciality chemical trader Vinyl Chemicals (India) Limited has officially announced its unaudited financial results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026 (Q1 FY27). Supported by a steady expansion in other income and optimized cost management, the company posted a sharp year-on-year increase in both pre-tax and net profits.

Overall Financial Performance

During Q1 FY27, Vinyl Chemicals (India) recorded strong bottom-line expansion across primary profitability parameters:

Revenue from Operations: Stood at ₹9,964 lakh for the quarter, compared to ₹15,123 lakh recorded in Q1 FY26 and ₹17,984 lakh in Q4 FY26.

Other Income: Advanced significantly to ₹628 lakh, registering a 53.55% year-on-year (YoY) rise compared to ₹409 lakh in Q1 FY26, and an 87.46% sequential increase from ₹335 lakh in Q4 FY26.

Total Income: Reached ₹10,592 lakh for Q1 FY27, compared to ₹15,532 lakh in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year and ₹18,319 lakh in Q4 FY26.

Profit Before Tax (PBT): Climbed 47.67% YoY to ₹889 lakh, up from ₹602 lakh in Q1 FY26. Sequentially, pre-tax profit surged 45.02% compared to ₹613 lakh in Q4 FY26.

Profit After Tax (PAT): Rose 48.76% YoY to ₹662 lakh for Q1 FY27, compared to ₹445 lakh in Q1 FY26 and ₹465 lakh in Q4 FY26.

Total Comprehensive Income: Reached ₹660 lakh for the quarter (after adjusting for minor other comprehensive income charges), compared to ₹443 lakh in Q1 FY26 and ₹463 lakh in Q4 FY26.

Earnings Per Share (EPS): Basic and diluted EPS improved to ₹3.61 per share (Face value Re. 1/- each) for the period, up from ₹2.42 per share in Q1 FY26 and ₹2.53 per share in Q4 FY26.

Operational Expense Breakdown

Total expenses for Q1 FY27 stood at ₹9,703 lakh, compared to ₹14,930 lakh in Q1 FY26 and ₹17,706 lakh in Q4 FY26. Key cost elements for the quarter include:

Purchase of Traded Goods: Accounted for ₹16,575 lakh, compared to ₹17,259 lakh in Q1 FY26 and ₹14,099 lakh in Q4 FY26.

Inventory Changes: The company recorded an increase in inventories of traded goods amounting to ₹(7,631) lakh, compared to ₹(2,918) lakh in Q1 FY26.

Employee Benefit Expenses: Stood at ₹211 lakh, compared to ₹143 lakh in Q1 FY26 and ₹38 lakh in Q4 FY26.

Foreign Exchange Difference Expense: Came in at ₹472 lakh (including forward premium), compared to ₹387 lakh in Q1 FY26 and ₹383 lakh in Q4 FY26.

Finance Costs: Remained minimal at ₹4 lakh, compared to ₹1 lakh in Q1 FY26.

Depreciation and Amortisation: Remained stable at ₹3 lakh.

Other Expenses: Totaled ₹69 lakh, compared to ₹55 lakh in Q1 FY26.

Taxation and Capital Structure

Tax Expense: Total tax expense for Q1 FY27 stood at ₹227 lakh, comprising a current tax provision of ₹330 lakh offset by a deferred tax credit of ₹103 lakh. This compares with a total tax expense of ₹157 lakh in Q1 FY26.

Paid-up Equity Share Capital: Stood unchanged at ₹183 lakh (comprising equity shares with a face value of Re. 1/- each).

Other Equity: Total reserves and other equity were reported at ₹12,842 lakh as per the audited balance sheet for the full year ended March 31, 2026.
