The growth highlights robust consumer appetite for the company's New Forever SUV range alongside an absolute surge in electric vehicle (EV) demand.
Strong Traction in Home and Export Markets
The company recorded significant expansion in both its vast domestic network and localized international channels:
PV Domestic: Dispatches within the Indian domestic market rose by 42% during the month, climbing to 59,090 units compared to 41,557 units in May 2025.
PV International Business (IB): Though smaller in terms of base volume, export markets recorded an impressive 45% jump, with dispatches reaching 700 units against the 483 units recorded in the same month last year.
Electric Vehicles Drive Exponential Growth
The most notable highlight of the monthly sales update is the rapid acceleration of the green mobility division.
Total consolidated electric vehicle volumes (combining Domestic and International Business sales) soared by 85% year-on-year, posting a volume of 10,517 units in May 2026 against 5,685 units in May 2025.
This strong performance reflects the expanding market footprint of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited, the dedicated clean energy subsidiary of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited. EV sales now account for more than 17.5% of the company's total monthly passenger vehicle volumes.
