NTPC Limited, India's largest integrated power utility, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Octopus Energy Group, a leader in clean energy and digital energy platforms, to explore strategic collaboration across the power and energy sector. The MoU was signed on the side lines of Bharat Electricity Summit 2026, being held from 19-22 March 2026, under the aegis of Ministry of Power, Government of India in the august presence of Sh. Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary (Ministry of Power, GoI), Sh. Piyush Singh, Additional Secretary (Ministry of Power, GoI), Sh. Gurdeep Singh, CMD, NTPC Limited and Ms. Renu Narang, CEO, NVVN. The MoU was signed by Dr. Jatinder Singh Chandok, Head International Business Development, NTPC and Mr. Chris Fitzgerald, Group Director, International Affairs, Octopus Energy.
The MoU establishes a non-binding framework for cooperation aimed at identifying, assessing, and pursuing opportunities in electricity distribution and retail, renewable energy and storage, electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, digital energy platforms, innovation, research & development and capacity building.
The collaboration will explore opportunities across India, the United Kingdom, and other mutually agreed geographies, with a focus on enhancing efficiency, affordability, reliability, and clean energy adoption.
