Flomic Global Logistics Ltd., an integrated logistics and freight forwarding company with over three decades of experience in handling complex global cargo movements, has successfully executed the shipment of critical industrial machinery for a steel melting plant from India to Nigeria. The project highlights Flomic's growing capabilities in handling specialized project cargo and heavy industrial logistics across international routes.
The complex project cargo operation involved the transportation of equipment forming a complete production line for a 500 TPD DRI (Sponge Iron) plant, demonstrating Flomic's expertise in handling heavy and high-value industrial cargo.
The shipment originated from Mumbai Old Port, India, and was delivered to Lagos, Nigeria (West Africa) under CIF terms. The cargo consisted of 115 packages with a total gross weight of 850,595 kilograms and a volume of 1,120.902 CBM, with an overall cargo value of approximately USD 3.04 million.
The cargo comprised specialized machinery and installation accessories required for establishing a steel melting plant, making precision handling and coordination critical throughout the logistics process.
Flomic's scope of work included international ocean freight planning, vessel coordination, specialized handling ofheavy machinery , and rigorous supervision of lashing and on-ground operations to ensure safe transit. The shipment was successfully executed aboard the vessel MV Ultra Agulhas, ensuring timely and secure delivery of the cargo.
