Vedanta Ltd declared preferred bidder of Karnapodikonda bauxite block

The Directorate of Mines and Geology, Government of Odisha vide its 'Notice Inviting Tender' dated December 04, 2025, had invited tenders to participate in the auction process for grant of Mining Lease in respect of Karnapodikonda bauxite block in the State of Odisha. Post qualifying at the initial bid stage, the Company participated in the live e-auction for grant of the stated Mining Lease.

Via 'Declaration of Preferred Bidder' notification dated February 27, 2026 (received by the Company at 04:20 pm IST), the Company has been declared as 'Preferred Bidder' for the Karnapodikonda bauxite block.

As per the tender document, the Karnapodikonda bauxite block is at G2 level of exploration with total area of 532.747 hectares for the block.

The block fits into strategic backward integration for Company's Aluminium business.

Shares of Vedanta Limited was last trading in BSE at Rs. 718.45 as compared to the previous close of Rs. 737.35. The total number of shares traded during the day was 395384 in over 8002 trades.

The stock hit an intraday high of Rs. 736.65 and intraday low of 715.05. The net turnover during the day was Rs. 287729371.00.
