Zelio E-Mobility Limited marked a major milestone in India's electric vehicle sector by doubling its production capacity and commissioning a new manufacturing facility on February 23, 2026.

Capacity Expansion Details

The company's total installed production capacity for electric vehicles surged from 72,000 units per annum to 180,000 units per annum, effective 4:30 P.M. on February 23. At existing utilization levels of approximately 85% (FY 2025-26 projection), this addition of 108,000 units positions Zelio to capture rising demand for sustainable mobility.

The enhancement at the Ladwa, Hisar, Haryana facility boosted output from 72,000 to 120,000 units through process optimizations like extended conveyor belts and additional machinery, requiring minimal incremental capital. The new Odisha plant contributes 60,000 units, funded via internal accruals.

New Odisha Facility Profile

Located at Khata No. 166/51 & 166/52, Plot No. 52 (0.8700 DC) and Plot No. 51/362 (0.4000 DC), Mouza Bahuda, PS-Tangi, Tehsil Jagatpur, Alarpur, District Cuttack, Odisha - 754025, the plant focuses on EV manufacturing and assembly. Commercial production commenced immediately upon commissioning, enabling regional supply efficiencies and logistics optimization.

This pan-India manufacturing footprint strengthens supply chain resilience and operating leverage amid growing EV adoption. The expansion aligns with Zelio's goals to meet market demand while maintaining cost efficiencies through low-capex upgrades at the existing site.
