Sterling Tools Limited (BSE: 530759 | NSE: STERTOOLS), a leading automotive components and technology manufacturer, has partnered with MINIEYE, a China-based intelligent driving and in-cabin solutions company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, to advance the deployment of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS) for the Indian automotive market.
As part of the partnership, Sterling Tools will support perception tuning and on-ground industry engagement, enabling ADAS and driver monitoring systems to be trained and adapted for India-specific road scenarios, mixed traffic conditions, and driving patterns. This approach recognises that intelligent driving systems require data-driven perception development and application-level engineering to function reliably in Indian environments.
The collaboration is focused on application engineering and system adaptation to ensure ADAS and driver monitoring technologies are suited to Indian driving environments, driving cycles, and real-world road conditions, rather than being direct replications of global market implementations. The effort will span both commercial and passenger vehicle segments.
Anish Agarwal, Director, Sterling Tools Limited, said, "Road safety and regulatory compliance are becoming increasingly important across both commercial and passenger vehicle segments in India. This collaboration allows us to work with a global technology partner to address the growing need for driver assistance and monitoring systems that are engineered for Indian operating conditions. At Sterling Tools, our focus remains on supporting OEMs with engineered, safety critical technologies aligned with upcoming regulatory requirements."
Dr. Liu Guoqing, Founder and Chairman of MINIEYE, said, "Partnering with Sterling Tools marks a vital step in bringing intelligent driving to India, leveraging Sterling Tools local expertise to translate technology into productionready applications that enhance vehicle safety."
The collaboration will cover the adaptation of systems including Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Departure Warning Systems (LDWS), Driver Drowsiness and Attention Warning Systems (DDAWS), and Blind Spot Monitoring, among others, aligned with OEM requirements and regulatory expectations.
India's automotive sector is entering a critical safety transition phase, with mandatory fitment of ADAS and Driver Drowsiness and Attention Warning Systems (DDAWS) in new vehicle models effective January 1, 2027. As adoption accelerates, OEMs are increasingly seeking systems that are engineered for Indian traffic behaviour, road complexity, and operating conditions, while remaining compliant with regulatory requirements.
MINIEYE brings global experience in intelligent driving and in-cabin technologies, with solutions compliant with EU General Safety Regulation (GSR) requirements and supported by Automotive SPICE V4.0 CL3 certification. Its systems are deployed across multiple international markets, including Europe, the UK, Australia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and South America.
Sterling Tools continues to strengthen its position as a technology-led automotive partner through sustained investments in advanced engineering and manufacturing capabilities. The company is expanding its portfolio across next-generation automotive technologies, including EV power electronics, high-voltage DC contactors and relays, and rare-earth-magnet-free motor solutions, aligned with electrification, intelligent mobility, and safety-driven regulatory adoption.
