Sterling Tools Partners with China's MINIEYE to Provide ADAS and Driver Monitoring Solutions for the Indian Market

Sterling Tools Limited (BSE: 530759 | NSE: STERTOOLS), a leading automotive components and technology manufacturer, has partnered with MINIEYE, a China-based intelligent driving and in-cabin solutions company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, to advance the deployment of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS) for the Indian automotive market.

As part of the partnership, Sterling Tools will support perception tuning and on-ground industry engagement, enabling ADAS and driver monitoring systems to be trained and adapted for India-specific road scenarios, mixed traffic conditions, and driving patterns. This approach recognises that intelligent driving systems require data-driven perception development and application-level engineering to function reliably in Indian environments.

The collaboration is focused on application engineering and system adaptation to ensure ADAS and driver monitoring technologies are suited to Indian driving environments, driving cycles, and real-world road conditions, rather than being direct replications of global market implementations. The effort will span both commercial and passenger vehicle segments.

India's automotive sector is entering a critical safety transition phase, with mandatory fitment of ADAS and Driver Drowsiness and Attention Warning Systems (DDAWS) in new vehicle models effective January 1, 2027. As adoption accelerates, OEMs are increasingly seeking systems that are engineered for Indian traffic behaviour, road complexity, and operating conditions, while remaining compliant with regulatory requirements.
