New Delhi, October 26, 2006: Maruti Udyog Ltd registered total income of Rs.35408.9 million (Net of Excise) during the second quarter (Q2) of the fiscal (July - September 2006), a growth of 12.52% over the same period last year.
Profit Before Tax went up to Rs.5346.3 million during Q2 of 2006-2007, a growth of 38.41% over the same period last year. Net Profit stood at Rs.3674.4 million, up 39.89% over July-September 2005.
First Half:
With this, Total Income (Net of Excise) for the first half of the fiscal (April - September 2006)was Rs.68096.6 million, a growth of 16% compared to the same period of the previous year. Net Profit stood at Rs.7370.1 million, up 50.68% over April-September 2005.
Unit Sales:
The company's domestic sales during Q2 (July - September 2006) grew 16.2% over the same period last fiscal. The company sold 157,683 vehicles during the quarter, including 8165 units of exports.
During the first half of this year, Maruti's sales grew 18% in the domestic car market. In the same period, the A1 & A2 car segment, showed a higher growth of 19%.
