PSP Projects Limited, a leading multidisciplinary construction company in India, today announced the successful completion of a world-record-setting engineering feat: "The continuous pouring of 24,000 cubic meters of concrete in just 54 hours". This monumental effort has created the world's largest raft foundation for a religious structure (Recognised by Golden Book of World Records), forming the base of the prestigious Umiya Dham temple in Jaspur, Ahmedabad.
The historic event, which commenced on World Engineer's Day, September 15, 2025, and concluded on September 17, 2025, marks a significant milestone in the construction of the Umiya Dham complex. Envisioned by the Vishv Umiya Foundation (VUF), the temple is set to be the tallest in the world at 504 feet and is designed with a projected lifespan of 500 years, standing as a modern engineering marvel rooted in ancient Vedic traditions.
Under the leadership of Shri P.S. Patel, Chairman and Managing Director of PSP Projects, this achievement sets a new global benchmark in civil engineering and large-scale project execution.
Speaking on this historic achievement, Shri P. S. Patel, CMD, PSP Projects Limited, stated, "This is a landmark moment not just for PSP Projects, but for India's construction industry. Successfully executing one of the world's largest raft foundations in a stringent 54 hours timeframe is a testament to our team's exceptional capabilities, meticulous planning, and relentless dedication. This isn't just a foundation; it is a new benchmark in civil engineering, showcasing our commitment to pushing the boundaries of what is possible. We are honoured to be building the foundation for a structure of such immense spiritual and national importance."
The raft foundation required an unprecedented scale of logistics and material management, seamlessly coordinated by the PSP Projects team with Adani Cements as the official concrete supplier. The key statistics of this 54 hours operation include:
- Concrete Poured: 24,000 Cubic Meters (Temperature-Controlled)
- Cement: 3,600 Tons
- GGBS: 6,480 MT
- Ice for Temperature Control: 3,250 MT
- Total Resources Mobilized: 29 RMC Plants, 280 Transit Mixers executing over 4,100 trips, 19 Concrete Pumps, and a dedicated workforce of over 600 personnel operating in two shifts.
The project's success was underpinned by the integration of new-edge technology, including a central control centre for real-time tracking, live location monitoring of the entire vehicle fleet, and advanced data management systems, ensuring perfect synchronization between material production and on-site delivery.
