SJVN Ltd commissions 1st unit of 60 MW Naitwar Mori Hydro Electric Project

SJVN Ltd has announced that the First Unit of 30 MW capacity of 60 MW Naitwar Mori Hydro Electric Project (NMHEP) in Uttarakhand has successfully achieved the Commercial Operation Date (COD) on Friday. The unit has achieved this COD after going through rigorous testing and successful synchronization with national grid. With this achievement, the company has now furthered its total generation capacity to 2,122 MW from 2,091.50 MW.

The Company has commenced the commercial energy generation from the project and it is now able to supply the renewable energy.

The 60 MW NMHEP is run of the river project located on River Tons, a major tributary of River Yamuna in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand with two generating units of 30 MW each. The project has been completed within a time period of six years from the award of the civil works in 2017 despite the difficult times of the global pandemic COVID-19. The Second Unit of the project is also expected to be commissioned within this month. The project will generate 265.5 million units of electricity annually and the power will be evacuated through 37 km long 220 KV Transmission Line from Bainol to Snail.

Shares of SJVN Limited was last trading in BSE at Rs. 82.20 as compared to the previous close of Rs. 81.22. The total number of shares traded during the day was 3446728 in over 8606 trades.

The stock hit an intraday high of Rs. 84.87 and intraday low of 80.17. The net turnover during the day was Rs. 286260321.00.
