On the occasion of Hindi Diwas on September 14, 2023, Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) was awarded the coveted 'Rajbhasha Kirti' (First Prize), the topmost honour conferred by the Government of India for implementation of the official language in the year 2022 - 2023.
Shri Ajay Kumar Srivastava, Managing Director & CEO, Indian Overseas Bank received the award at the auspicious hands of the Hon'ble Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Ajay Kumar Mishra at the 3rd edition of the Akhil Bharatiya Rajbhasha Sammelan held at Shri Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Pune (Maharashtra).
IOB received a second honour at the event, wherein its in-house magazine 'Vani' was also awarded the 'Rajbhasha Kirti' (First Prize) for official language implementation.
The occasion was graced by Shri Harivansh Narayan Singh, Deputy Chairman, Rajya Sabha; Shri Bhartruhari Mahtab, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) & Deputy Chairman - Committee of Parliament on Official Language; Smt. Anshuli Arya, Secretary - Official Language; Dr. (Mrs.) Meenakshi Jolly, Joint Secretary - Official Language and other Government of India officials.
IOB has been honored with the 'Rajbhasha Kirti' awards for the third consecutive year. The bank has received awards from the Government of India for its outstanding contribution to and implementation of the official language in conferences organised at Surat and Varanasi earlier.
