Karnataka Bank holds Conference of Internal Inspectors of the Bank

Shri Mahabaleshwara M.S, MD & CEO of the Bank in his key note address to Bank's field and back office Inspectors at the 'Conference of Internal Inspectors' of the Bank at Mangaluru, stated that inspectors are eyes and ears of the Bank and they should focus on qualitative reports. He appreciated the inspectors for conducting inspection and audits as per schedule even during the COVID 19 pandemic period. He highlighted that the inspectors are expected to assure the Top Management and the Board that the laid down systems and procedures are adhered to while carrying out operations in the branch. He also advised to ensure maximum spot rectifications of the inspection observations and told them to look beyond the Balance sheet / inspection manual for a meaningful inspection and audit.

Shri Balachandra Y.V, Chief Operating Officer stated that teclu1ology has changed the manner of doing business and hence technology driven offsite audits are gaining equal importance and hence robust system checks and alerts are the need of the hour.

Shri Gokuldas Pai, Chief Business Officer stressed upon the fact that compliance is mandatory and not optional. He told that compliance and business should go hand in hand.

Shri Nirmal Kumar K Hegde, General Manager, and Head of Internal Audit in his welcome address emphasized on risk Based Internal Audit and also informed about the data analytics system. Smt. Sumana Ghate, Deputy General Manager gave an account of department's performance and new initiatives. Mr. Vignesh Bhide, Chief Manager, compered and Mr. Raman Banait, Chief Manager, thanked all the participants for their active participation.

Shares of The Karnataka Bank Limited was last trading in BSE at Rs. 66.75 as compared to the previous close of Rs. 66.70. The total number of shares traded during the day was 91226 in over 1252 trades.

The stock hit an intraday high of Rs. 67.30 and intraday low of 66.35. The net turnover during the day was Rs. 6095757.00.
