The Indian equity benchmark opened on a flat note in the morning amid mixed global cues. Benchmark indices broke down their two day's winning drive and ended lower in the volatile session with Nifty finishing below 18,000 level. At close, the Sensex was down 435 points or 0.72% at 60,177, and the Nifty was down 96 points or 0.53% at 17,957. Zomato shares decline 4% after CCI orders probe into 'unfair' practices. On the sectoral front, Auto, FMCG, Consumer durable and Consumption indices rose 1% and above, while Private bank index slipped nearly 1.17% and financial index fell 1.78%.
In Nifty 50 top gainers Adani ports, NTPC, Power Grid, Tata motors and Tata consumer. The losers are HDFC bank, Bajaj finserv, HDFC, Kotak Mahindra and Indusind Bank.
