xorkeesign digital signing extension for Income Tax, GST & MCA

Odyssey Technologies has released 'xorkeesign G2C', a product that helps users digitally sign GST and income tax returns for all classes of assessees, including corporate taxpayers. It also helps register the digital certificates of company executives with the MCA portal.

xorkeesign G2C is a browser extension that stays invisible until a user accesses the Income tax, GST or MCA portals and then helps the users sign their returns with no additional tool requirement. This is remarkably different from the default tax filing mechanism where the user installs different signature software for each site with each software having its own pre-requisites, making it a time-consuming exercise.

The innovations - global firsts, all of them - that xorkeesign G2C offers, are:

- The process of preparation of returns is isolated from signing / e-verifying. The consultant may prepare the return and the assessee can sign remotely from wherever he is.
- Frees the DSC from the need for token drivers
- Allows signing from mobile devices

xorkeesign G2C works on major platforms like Microsoft Windows, Mac OS and Ubuntu. Since it works on leading browsers like Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Mozilla Firefox, it has been pre-checked for incompatibilities by the browsers ensuring a smooth installation experience.

The product also addresses serious security concerns like typing in the user's password on Government portals when they don't even need it. xorkeesign G2C also enables every user with a DSC to sign in an entirely self-reliant manner keeping the DSC key control and possession with himself at all times.

B. Robert Raja, Managing Director, Odyssey Technologies said, "The ease of use alone justifies using xorkeesign G2C in place of the default mechanisms. I am told that users find xorkeesign G2C simpler and faster than even the Aadhaar OTP based e-verification. As GST returns are due every month this would save significant time for all taxpayers and consultants."

There are nearly 10 million DSCs issued in India. Some of these are used by web servers and other software but most are meant to be used by individual users. Owing to the largely unnecessary complexities of the digital signature process, users generally hand over their DSCs to their consultants and get them to affix the signature on their behalf. This kind of digital illiteracy is perpetuated by most available signature interfaces.

Odyssey Technologies hopes to contribute significantly to digital literacy by offering accessible digital signature software that is uncomplicated and easy to use. They see Chartered Accountants, tax consultants, Corporate tax departments, MSMEs and individual assesses benefit from switching to xorkeesign G2C. They are offering a free usage for tax sites till December 31st, 2022.

"We have plans to extend the usage of xorkeesign G2C to cover all Government interfaces like EPF, Trademarks registry, DGFT and Customs. We will also simplify tender signing on Government portals as well as provide enhancements of processes to State and Local Government interfaces.

xorkeesign G2C is one of the services on the patent pending xorkee platform. When more services are rolled out, it will be the biggest public key system in the world." he added.

Shares of ODYSSEY TECHNOLOGIES LTD. was last trading in BSE at Rs. 57.25 as compared to the previous close of Rs. 57.40. The total number of shares traded during the day was 8447 in over 87 trades.

The stock hit an intraday high of Rs. 58.95 and intraday low of 56.45. The net turnover during the day was Rs. 483922.00.
