HeidelbergCement India has commissioned a state-of-the-art facility to substitute part of the Fossil Fuels with Alternate Fuels (AF) in cement production.
The recently commissioned AF receiving, storage and feeding system built at Narsingarh Clinker Unit with an investment of ~ INR 160 million, will enable the Company to achieve a Thermal Substitution Rate (TSR) of approximately 5% in the first phase and the same will be ramped up gradually to attain double digit TSR in the coming years.
Aligned to the global vision of HeidelbergCement Group, this project will reduce our Carbon Footprint by reducing consumption of conventional fossil fuels and increasing usage of alternate fuels. This milestone achievement will reduce our CO2 emissions by ~42,000 tonnes per annum.
Speaking on this occasion, Managing Director, Mr. J.N. Cooper said that successful implementation of this project further reinforces HC India's commitment towards sustainable development and a step to make our organization future ready so that we are able to meet environmental compliances as they get stringent in the years to come.
Shares of HeidelbergCement India Limited was last trading in BSE at Rs. 238.05 as compared to the previous close of Rs. 243.10. The total number of shares traded during the day was 8244 in over 902 trades.
The stock hit an intraday high of Rs. 245.00 and intraday low of 237.20. The net turnover during the day was Rs. 1975256.00.
