TNPL announces Q1FY22 results

TamilNadu Newsprint and Papers Limited (TNPL) reported total revenue of Rs. 646.39 Crore for the quarter ended 30th June 2021 against Rs. 501.29 Crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Paper production for the quarter ended 30th June 2021 is 83169 MT against 81162 MT in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Packaging Board production is 40324 MT against 29812 MT in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

The company earned Profit before Interest Depreciation and Tax (PBIDT) of Rs. 77.34 Crore for the quarter ended 30th June, 2021. After providing Rs. 57.26 Crore towards depreciation & amortization and Rs. 40.92 Crore for finance cost, the company incurred Loss before tax for the quarter ended 30th June 2021 is Rs. 20.84 Crore as against loss of Rs. 30.72 Crore in the corresponding quarter of previous year. Loss after tax for the quarter ended 30th June 2021 is Rs. 13.77 Crore and against a loss of Rs. 20.01 Crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The company is on a recovery path and in the coming quarters we looking forward to a much better performance.

Shares of Tamil Nadu Newsprint And Papers Ltd was last trading in BSE at Rs. 144.5 as compared to the previous close of Rs. 143. The total number of shares traded during the day was 15151 in over 691 trades.

The stock hit an intraday high of Rs. 147.35 and intraday low of 142.5. The net turnover during the day was Rs. 2204255.
