Aarti Industries Limited, a leading Indian speciality chemicals and pharmaceuticals company, today announced that it has been awarded a Gold Medal by EcoVadis, the world's most trusted sustainability rating company, on the basis of its corporate sustainability practices. This is based on its score of 68 out of 100, which places the company in the top 5% of all companies assessed under the worldwide rating system.
EcoVadis rating focuses on a wide range of criteria, divided into four topic areas: Environment, Labor & Human rights, Ethics and Sustainable procurement. These criteria are based on International Standards such as the ten principles of the UN Global Compact, the conventions of the International Labor Organization (ILO), the Standards of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), ISO 26000, and the UN Guiding Principles for Business and Human Rights. The rating methodology is an evaluation of how well a company has integrated the principles of sustainability/CSR into their business and management system.
