MoD and BEL sign contract for procurement of Software Defined Radio (Tactical) worth over Rs. 1,000 crore

Ministry of Defence (MoD) and Defence Public Sector Undertaking (DPSU) Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) have signed a contract for procurement of Software Defined Radio Tactical (SDR-Tac) worth over Rs. 1,000 crore in New Delhi on February 08, 2021.

The SDR-Tac, jointly designed and developed by Defence Electronics Applications Laboratory (DEAL) of Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) through a consortium of domestic agencies and industry (Comprising Weapons and Electronics Systems Engineering Establishment (WESEE), Bharat Electronics Limited, Centre for Artificial Intelligence & Robotics (CAIR) and Indian Navy) will bring strategic depth to the Indian Navy. The delivery will take place within three years. BEL is already supplying SDRNaval Combat (NC) version and SDR-Air is under user evaluation trial. DRDO and BEL are planning to provide latest SDR with the best security grading to the Indian Navy.

Shares of BHARAT ELECTRONICS LTD. was last trading in BSE at Rs.137.9 as compared to the previous close of Rs. 140.75. The total number of shares traded during the day was 1335059 in over 4574 trades.

The stock hit an intraday high of Rs. 142 and intraday low of 137. The net turnover during the day was Rs. 187351494.
