General Insurance Corporation of India announces appointment of KMP

The Board of Directors of General Insurance Corporation of India at its meeting held on January 5, 2021 took note of the appointment of following as Key Management Person of the Corporation with effect from 1st January 2021, pursuant to the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) Corporate Governance Guidelines 2016:

- Mrs. Jayashree Ranade as Chief Investment Officer & Key Management Person of the Corporation in place of Mr. Shashikant N. More who has retired on attaining the age of superannuation.

- Mrs. Jayashri Balkrishna, as Chief Risk Officer & Key Management Person of the Corporation in place of Mrs. Madhulika Bhaskar.

Mrs. Jayashree Ranade, Chief Investment Officer

Mrs. Jayashree Ranade has joined the Corporation in 1988 as Assistant Administrative Officer. She is Bachelor of Commerce and Chartered Accountant. During her service she has handled responsibilities at various levels in Business Accounts Department, Taxation and Investment Department.

She was selected by the Corporation for Executive MBA course at Management Development Institute Gurgaon in 2006. Since 2012 to May 2016, she was on deputation to our associate company 'India International Insurance Pte Ltd' at Singapore as Head of Finance Department.

Mrs. Jayashree Ranade is visiting faculty to NIA, Pune and she has represented GIC Re and India International Insurance at various national and international conferences. Her hobbies include reading, travelling and music.

Mrs. Jayashri Balkrishna, Chief Risk Officer:

Mrs. Jayashri Balkrishna aged 53 years, presently holding the position of Deputy General Manager of the Corporation. She holds a masters' degree in Commerce from the University of Mumbai, has obtained Fellowship from the Insurance Institute of India (FIII) and holds an Advance Diploma in Insurance from Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII), London.

She has been associated with the Corporation since July 1988. Previously she has worked as Assistant Administrative Officer, Administrative officer and Assistant Manager in Finance (Investment Accounts), as Chief Manager in Reinsurance Operations and as Assistant General Manager in Investment Operations department of the Corporation.

Shares of General Insurance Corporation of India was last trading in BSE at Rs.141 as compared to the previous close of Rs. 141.8. The total number of shares traded during the day was 13434 in over 285 trades.

The stock hit an intraday high of Rs. 142.95 and intraday low of 140.5. The net turnover during the day was Rs. 1901047.
