Weekly average daily fliers ('000) increased marginally to 234 in the week ended (W.E) 6th Dec'20 vs 232 in the W.E 29th Nov'20. Weekly average daily fliers have increased from 38 to 234 in the first 28 weeks post the resumption of domestic air travel from 25th May'20. For the W.E. 06th Dec'20, average number of departures per day increased to 1,976 compared to 1,880 in the W.E. 29th Nov'20. The number of fliers per departure dipped to 118 in the W.E. 06th Dec'20 vs 128 in the W.E. 29th Nov'20.
As per latest update from Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Cap on domestic flight capacity has been increased from 70% to 80% of pre-Covid levels.
As per the latest data DGCA for Oct'20, PAX grew 34% MoM to 5.27mn. In Oct'20, all major airlines witnessed an improvement in PLF. SpiceJet reported highest PLF of 74%, up 100bps MoM. As at Oct'20-end, Indigo's market share dropped 55.5% from 58% in Sept'20.
