Satyam Wins ASTD "BEST Award"

Satyam Computer Services Ltd on October 11, 2006 has announced that it ranked 15th in the American Society for Training & Development’s fourth Annual BEST Awards program, which recognizes organizational commitment to employee learning. The Company is among 39 organizations from India, South Africa, and the United States to receive the ASTD BEST Award.

In its online survey, ASTD reviewed applications from 72 organisations in seven countries. Participants submitted quantitative and qualitative information about their learning and development practices and programs. Applications were reviewed by the BEST Awards advisory committee, a team of learning and performance executives with significant expertise in learning development, corporate training, human resources, and corporate strategy.

Rajul Asthana, vice president, at the Company's Learning Center, accepted the award during an October 04, reception in Washington, D.C. On October 05, representatives from several recognized organizations offered presentations about their learning and development practices during the "Learn from the BEST" professional development event.

The Company learning initiatives are driven by two entities: the Satyam School of Leadership (SSL) and the Satyam Learning Center (SLC). The SSL offers courses to create best-in-class, entrepreneurial leaders. Early next year, it will also feature a state-of-the-art research and development facility.

The SLC provides high-quality earning for all associates. Over the past few years, it has evolved into a learning provider and partner for all the Company businesses. It offers courses in technology, project management, advanced management, behavioral education, and culture and foreign languages. The SLC is located at the 120-acre Satyam Technology Center, and features four contemporary training facilities, a convention center, a deer park, as well as fitness, golf, and cricket amenities.
