Hindustan Lever equity shareholders to approve Scheme of Arrangement

Hindustan Lever Ltd has announced that pursuant to the order of the Hon'ble High Court of Judicature at Bombay a meeting of the equity shareholders of the Company will be held on October 30, 2006, for the purpose of considering and if thought fit, approving with or without modification(s), the Scheme of Arrangement proposed to be made between the Company, Shamnagar Estates Pvt Ltd, Jamnagar Properties Pvt Ltd, Hindustan Kwality Walls Foods Pvt Ltd and their respective Shareholders and Creditors for the demerger and transfer of certain Demerged Units of the Company to Shamnagar Estates Pvt Ltd, Jamnagar Properties Pvt Ltd and Hindustan Kwality Walls Foods Pvt Ltd, respectively.
