Assam Company allots 5145703 equity shares

Assam Company Ltd has announced that 2 (two) No. conversion notices with conversion date January 07, 2008 has been received for conversion of Foreign Currency Convertible Bonds aggregating to USD 3.3 million.

In terms of the FCCB offer circular and method of conversion the Company has allotted equivalent No of 51,45,703 Equity shares of Re 1/- each in terms of the resolution dated January 18, 2008.

The allottees include Goldman Sachs Investment (Mauritius) I Ltd FCCB: 20,27,095 No of Equity Shares, Grants Investment Ltd -FCCB, Mauritius: 31,18,608 No of Equity Shares.

Upon such conversion the outstanding FCCB aggregates to USD 44.7 million
