The construction arm of L&T has won orders worth Rs. 3039 crores across its various business segments.
The Water & Effluent Treatment Business has won orders worth Rs. 1422 Crs.
An Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) order has been secured from the Department of Water Resources, Government of Odisha, for the execution of Mega Lift Irrigation Schemes, Cluster IX and Cluster XII. The scope includes survey, investigation, design, procurement, construction and installation of pumping systems, rising and gravity / main lines, branch lines, distribution network, control and regulation systems to bring more than 36,000 hectares of land under irrigation.
Another turnkey order has been bagged from Rajasthan Urban Infrastructure Development Project (RUIDP), Government of Rajasthan, for wastewater infrastructure works at Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan. The project, funded by Asian Development Bank (ADB), includes construction of wastewater network, pumping stations, a wastewater treatment plant, effluent reuse and other allied works. The scope further includes works for improvement of water supply distribution network and reduction in non-revenue water at Jhunjhunu.
An order has also been secured from Gujarat Water Supply and Sewerage Board, Government of Gujarat, for the Narmada River Basin based Bulk Water Pipeline Scheme - Package 2. The scope includes laying of 108 km of pipeline network traversing Dahod and Chhota Udaipur districts of Gujarat with other allied works.
The Power Transmission & Distribution Business has secured major orders worth Rs.1036 Crs for electrification works under Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS) and Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) schemes of the Government of India.
The projects have been awarded by the North Bihar Power Distribution Limited and South Bihar Power Distribution Limited and cover locations such as Muzaffarpur, Madhubani, Vaishali, Nalanda and Patna West, Bihar.
This augurs well for the fast growing state aiming to light up every household and provide uninterrupted power supply to its villages and towns.
The Heavy Civil Infrastructure Business has won an order worth Rs.359 Crs from Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) for the engineering, procurement and construction of a new navigational lock at Farakka, West Bengal.
The major scope includes construction of a navigational lock structure with the latest technology comprising about 250m long and 18m deep retaining walls on either side of channel, 390m long guide wall, channel base slab on tension piles, mitre gates and caisson gates with automation system.
The Metallurgical and Material Handling Business has bagged an order worth Rs.222 Crs from a major customer for the supply, erection, testing and commissioning of equipment package at Paradip port. The scope includes supply of stacker reclaimers and tandem tippler.
