Guwahati, Thursday, August 31, 2007: E-City Ventures promoted Fun Cinemas, which has pioneered ushering in the world-class cinema experience revolution to smaller cities across India, is now ready for a show time in Guwahati. Located at the Hub Mall, Bhangagarh, G.S. Road, the cinema will be inaugurated on Friday with the opening movie ‘Heyy Babyy’. The single-screen has a total seating capacity of 255 seats.
Says Mr. Vishal Kapur, Chief Operating Officer, Fun Cinemas, "Built over an area of 10, 000 sq ft, this Fun Cinemas is equipped with the state-of-the-art technology and three-way surround sound system. The auditorium seating arrangement offers three different options to choose from - the Business Class, the Gold Class and the Silver Class, to suit individual preferences and budgets."
Elaborating about some of the other initiatives being undertaken by Fun Cinemas across the country, Mr. Kapur further adds, "Today, Fun Cinemas has become fastest growing multiplex chain in India. We have registered a tremendous growth of 176% in just one year, having grown from 17 screens to 47 screens and entering new markets like Chandigarh, Panipat, Jaipur, Gulbarga, Agra and Lucknow ahead of peers. Besides Guwahati, we are now also planning to enter cities like Kolkatta, Gwalior, Indore, Ambala, Kota, Baroda and Bangalore, besides expanding our existing presence in Mumbai, and Hyderabad."
Mr. Kapur feels that there is still a lot to be desired in terms of a truly world-class cinema experience in India. He says, "Especially in tier II & tier III cities in India, the cinema-goers do not have much choice when it comes to demanding world-class quality experience. We, at Fun Cinemas, are committed to bring this fascinating experience to the doorsteps of every Indian. Even our Fun Cinemas in Guwahati offers gold-mark signature facilities including Service-On-Seat and tele-booking to further raise the bar for a truly global entertainment experience in the city." Service on Seat is a unique service from Fun Cinemas wherein the customers can place their orders for snacks and cold drinks in advance, which are served to them right on their seats, explains Mr. Kapur.
E-City Ventures plans to add another 1, 500 screens by the end of FY 2011 in 23 cities, conceded Mr. Kapur.
