From 11th to 12th February 2016, Habitat for Humanity (HFH) India is organizing 'The Urban Thinkers Campus', an initiative of United Nations-Habitat's World Urban Campaign. The Urban Thinkers Campus is conceived as an open space for critical exchange between urban actors who believe that urbanization is an opportunity and can lead to positive urban transformations.
The event is a part of 'Inclusive Smart Cities' conference series by HFH India, with special focus on - sanitation and safety. Through discussions and suggestions on the theme 'The City We Need', the participants will deliberate on the New Urban Agenda and the key outcomes will be documented in 'Habitat III' - the United Nations Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development - taking place at Quito, Ecuador in October 2016.
Habitat for Humanity India's Urban Thinkers Campus will witness discussions and meetings where academia, think tanks, research organizations, planners, futurologists will come together to offer perspectives for better safety and sanitation conditions in cities of the future.
