              Indian Film Festival Vietnam opened on 18th Dec, 2015 with movie 'Dil Chahta Hai' which was housefull.The film festival is being attended by Award-winning filmmakers Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Umesh Shukla & Rahul Mittra and organized under the aegis of Indian Embassy in Vietnam and Directorate of Film Festivals - Ministry of I&B, Govt. of India.
Yesterday,a round table conference was held which was attended by Smt. Preeti Saran, the Ambassador of India to Vietnam,Dr. Ngo Phurong Lan,General Director of Vietnam Cinema Department and Dr.Ha Van Sieu.
Film makers from both the countries -India and Vietnam discussed on the Film Co-Production Vietnam-India. Along with this, a master plan was carried out to build Cinema Development Strategy. The master plan plan will focus on some detail contents such as building some material infrastructures of cinema technique and film production.
The Plan aimed to contribute to get a target of Cultural Development Strategy by 2020.
Based on the contributing opinions, a report will be submitted to the Cinema Department which further will be finalized by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.
Mr.Rc Dalal,One of the representatives from India says,"I stressed on the training in the various film making craft for development of film making in Vietnam,the light will be thrown on the same in the coming film festivals."
We want to introduce to Vietnamese audiences our best films from the Indian cinema. We want them to know, apart from Baby Bride which is now one of the most top-rated drama series in Vietnam, we still have many other good movies,said Smt. Preeti Saran, the Ambassador of India to Vietnam.
Dr. Ngo Phurong Lan,General Director of Vietnam Cinema Department said" Indian directors should not just recognize the Vietnamese market for its cheap labour or beautiful scenery. Instead, Vietnam should be seen as a new piece of land to explore."
Umesh Shukla,Award Winning Director said,"To me film festival of India in Vietnam means exchanging of culture,values and ethics.This film festival has opened up the gates of exchanging and exploring between India and Vietnam."
The conference further sought to discuss opportunities to promote the nation's tourism through the cinema industry.
