TIRUN CEO, Mrs. Ratna Chadha, cooks for 2000 smiles at Smile Foundation's event

Tirun Travel Marketing CEO Mrs. Ratna Chadha sure dons many hats, outside her official role as proved at the recently held event 'Cook for a Smile'. Coming together to recreate the magic for a third time, Smile Foundation and four-time Michelin-starred celebrity chef Mr.Vikas Khann recently hosted another successful edition of the unique charity cookout. Meant as a fund raiser to support the Nutrition for Education campaign for underprivileged children, the event took place on September 6 at Crowne Plaza, Gurgaon, and was sponsored by Usha International. Last year's first runner up Mrs. Ratna Chadha, was amongst the ten participants competing for top honours.

The event itself turned out to be a sterling success with Delhi' stop corporate executives and business leaders coming together to whip up a sumptuous feast of their favourite dishes. They were assisted in their culinary endeavours by children from Smile Foundation who played the role of sous-chefs to perfection. With Chef Khanna on the side lines encouraging the participants with his trademark style, the "Cook for a Smile" event was a fun-filled, highly rewarding experience for participants and organisers alike. The funds raised by the event would be utilised to support the academic and nutritional requirements of 2000 children for one year.

Mrs. Ratna Chadha, Chief Executive, TIRUN Travel Marketing, said, "What drove me to participate in this event was its ultimate goal of making a difference in the lives of underprivileged children. Cooking with other corporate executives itself was great fun along with Chef Khanna's histrionics. The satisfaction you get in doing your bit towards the betterment of society through such an endeavour is unparalleled. The activity was extremely engaging and rewarding in that sense and I hope to undertake more such ventures in the future as well."

Elaborating on his fondness for the initiative, Chef Vikas Khanna, said, "Cook for a Smile is a pioneering initiative by Smile Foundation and I am privileged to be associated with a cause that is extremely close to my heart – nutrition. Malnutrition is a silent killer in India and I hope that by raising funds we are able to provide food and education for underprivileged children across the country. Smile impacted the nutrition support of 20000 children in 21 states last year. Cook for a Smile is a small step but I hope it will become a movement in the coming years by reaching out to various stakeholders as well as building more advocates for the cause. I congratulate USHA International and all the participants for believing in this cause and becoming the reason for many kids to smile."

Launched in May 2014, Smile Foundation's Cook for a Smile platform has been a phenomenal success with CEOs, business leaders and even cricketers from Kings XI Punjab having participated in its events. The organisation is looking to invite other influencers from the fashion industry and Bollywood in the coming months to support its awareness and advocacy campaign.
