Amit Chaudhary to contest elections even after being rejected by party

The flaw which occurred on the part of Congress Party's youth party, NSUI in terms of ticket distribution at the student elections of Delhi University is posing a threat for the party high command. The episode has created ripples across the party's internal circles. Even the party high command is very annoyed by the decision. Initially, Amit Chaudhary was being considered as the primary contender for the post in NSUI. The party had asked Amit Chaudary to withdraw his nomination from all posts except the post of secretary. He was even issued a ballot number for the same. Amit Chaudhary was eligible for contesting the elections, but the party denied him the ticket at the last moment, citing reason for incomplete documents. In retaliation, Amit Chaudhary argued that while his documents were found complete by the college authorities at the time of admission, his party has thrust false accusations in order to deny him the ticket.

Amit Chaudhary commented that his party has left him high and dry and that he is very disturbed. It is important to mention that according to the guidelines issued by the "Lingdoh Committee", once a student is issued a ballot number, he/she cannot contest elections in future. Amit Chaudhary on the other hand assured that not only would the contest the elections, but would win with a huge margin.

It is learned from sources that after the debacle, a meeting was called at the Congress party offices, in which Amit Chaudhary was persuaded against contesting the elections and was promised an important position in the party. Amit, on the other hand has rejected the proposal and has decided to contest the election for the post of secretary.
